La representación de las aves mediante el dibujo o la pintura es una actividad que tiene dos interesantes versiones: por un lado, la recogida de detalles, fruto de la observación de sus costumbres y movimientos, que tiene como fin el estudio científico; y por otro, una vertiente artística cada día más apreciada por los amantes de estos vistosos animales. En este libro se ofrecen los conocimientos básicos necesarios para abordar la representación gráfica de las aves desde el punto de vista de su anatomía y sus costumbres. Se explican las diversas formas de alas, picos o patas que existen, y se ofrecen ejemplos de los distintos tipos de plumaje y de su colorido, todo ello en estado de reposo o en pleno vuelo, y acompañado de una descripción muy precisa de las formas características de cada familia de aves.
